paper hose between air box arm and manifold

On my 1.8 clipper carb i think i used to have a paper hose between air box arm and manifold.  We ll not quite paper but it was not hard wearing..does anyone still have one?  What does it do? Andshould i hunt for a replacement?

Hi, its used to supply your carb with warm air when you first run the car from cold.

On mine (1.3 driver) there is a thermostat on the air box that closes once your car is up to temp.

I assume yours will be the same.

I ran mine for a few days with it off and I did feel it made a difference and not in a good way.

Search for aluminium ducting hose on amazon, they have a few diameters if you want a replacement.
 Just a suggestion.

If it was there it was there for a reason.
