oil sump leaking

hi all well mot time has bin and gone again she passed only advisory slight oil leak ( gasket ) so rather than pay a garage I would like to do this my self I have a relatively good attitude to basic mechanics is it an easy job / do I need any special tools / which gasket best cheers

start with the bolts between sump and gearbox as those are the hardest to get to. if its a later cabrio then the lower part of the tin plate on the box side will unbolt which helps.
the oem cork gasket is fine if you get a decent make, but you may want to upgrade to later mk2/3 rubber gasket. VW specify longer bolts for it, is a good excuse to get a load of socket head allen bolts which are much easier to refit between the sump and box
spec for the rubber gasket bolts is M6X16
