oil cooler housing gasket

Hello all,

my small oil leak has turned into a major problem and there is a lot oil coming out now.

this morning i took the oil cooler off and changer the o-ring which was pretty knackered, but unfortuantly this did not solve the problem. seem the oil is poring out between the engine and the oil cooler/fiter housing.


dose anyone know the code for this little gasket?


and has anyone had this problem before?


my oil pressure warning light now comes on.

I think I got mine from  vw heritage iirc just a few months ago.

any idea of a product code i cans seem to find it on there?

I've just looked on vagcat.com and there seems to be 2 listed, (these are vw part numbers)
Chaise number upto 15-m-027-000 is 026115441A
after 15-m-027-000 is 028115441C
the picture show one with and one without the water feed oil cooler..

That looks right, looks like i might have to try the dealers though

the one in the picture above is the early type, the later type is similar but the top bolt is offset to the driver side, if you compare the pic to your car it will become clear which you need

from vw the early one is 1.46+VAT, later one is 3.16+VAT. vw are cheaper than vw heritage for the early gasket, but not the late gasket for some reason!

It might be easier to pull the flange off and trace round it on some gasket paper..5 minutes with a ball peenhammer and you've saved enough money to buy a pint

the housing is under high oil pressure so id not risk it if it was me, for the sake of a couple of quid
