oh dear

So I been a bit absent minded and put some petrol in diesel..

Its a 1.6D, I had about a 10ers worth of diesel in it, I put a 5ers worth of petrol in drove it for about 30 odd miles
Realized what i had done! So filled the tank up to the brim with diesel..

Was running fine ish for for a bit then left the car over. The next day I drove it to my destination and about 5 minutes in it started to choke and struggle, lots of smoke..
I'd leave it to rest the go again would be k for 5 mins then same thing..

Eventually got back, cars been sitting for a few days now. Just went to start it up and started up fine but still sounding a bit rough and LOTS of smoke and coking a bit..

Had a look round the bay and noticed bubbles (of air?) coming out of what i think is the fuel filter..

Should i change the fuel filter? Is the bubbles causing the smoke?
Has the petrol cleaned the system out and created a leak in the pipe somewhere??

Any help please…thanks

petrol in a derv tank can play havoc with the filters seals and gaskets as its thinner than derv and perishes the seals very quickly if i have got this the right way round not good new i feel I know folk who have put derv in petrol engine with no damage just a bit more smoke change of plugs and filter is all that's needed what kind of car is it is it a mk1 or another car of yours?
