No guts

Hi all, Right 1.8 clipper ex with weber carb. Refurbed the carb new inlet and outlet, head skimmed new exhaust + manifold gasket all back together and the car has no guts and feels like it has back pressure!
Could this just be the exhaust still blowing from the manifold to downpipe gasket or are there other areas I should be checking???

Check the cam belt timing marks, could be a tooth out on the camshaft as it's very easily done.

Nope done all that and went through the timing headache got it pretty sweet!
Threw caution to the wind this evening went to my regional meet ( ) with tow rope and Daddy on call  Seems a bit of a run has helped it a bit, So much so im now prepared to accept it could be the 90bhp from factory new optimal and im probably getting 80bhp of that at best
