Name of this part???

Hi Guys

I dont suppose anyone could tell me the correct name for the following part (description may be pants sorry)
It is some sort of valva, it is jubilee clipped to 2 hoses (sits between them) and has 4 electrical connections on the upperside of it. I think it is a thermoswitch or what have you but GSF cant really figure it out and i cant log into VAG to find the diagram.
Any1 pleassseee?

An engine size, year and model would be useful.

Anyway - if it's what I think - you have a 1.5 engine and these are the dual thermo switches for the carb - totally obsolete and most used ones have rotted into a fine powder!!  Having said that I may have one here.
