My 1.5 makes no sense :lol:

Today i was on my way to work with a full car of lads and i started to go up a hill and then my car started slowing down and the revs wouldn't increase if i put my foot down, so i pulled over. I started the engine up again to get the car to a safe place and it started stalling every time i tried pulling off. I've just got my car dropped off by a recovery truck so i had to drive it up my drive and the car is running fine  i just took it for a spin and there's nothing wrong with it. Does anyone know what is going on?Leon Smith

How many mates did you ACTUALLY have in the car

sounds liek carb icing chap! check warm air pipe is there, the metal shroud on exhaust manifold is intact and the warm air diverter flap in the airbox opens when the engine is started

Sounds more like rust in your tank to be honest… Rust will block the fuel lines when the fuel pump is sucking fuel and has a tendency to move and unblock therefore making the car work again… Common mk1 problem 

Cheers mate. Im guna be buying a new tank and fuel lines soon because they are destroyed
