mk1 golf clipper..wots the green ball in engine bay???

mk1 golf clipper 1988 ....can anyone tell me mot the green ball in the top left of the engin bay is call and wot its for as i snapped the join on it while trying to find an air leek today???

Vacuum reservoir.

Yup vac reservoir. you can run without it, just plumb the vacuum line straight to the connector on the airbox.
