Long time since I took a carb off, but if you take the air filter box off the top of the carb aren't there two long bolts going straight down through the carb? Seem to recall taking one off and replacing the rubber between the carb and the inlet manifold fairly easily with the instructions in my Haynes manual.

yup agreed 3 long Philips screw headed bolts on top of the carb. It confused me a little when i took mine off. More than 3 screw heads on top of the carb, makeing it harder to sus out which ones to undo first. If you undo all of them you will get the correct 3.lol

My cable comes from the left had side of the bulk head. but it reaches fine. Not sure on the LHD tho. It should reach around in theory. Had to snip off the nipple on the end so that it goes through the hole/clamp on the weber. If ya want pic of mine let me know for reference.

hi the cable comes out of the right hand side of the bulk head (as your looking at it) near side
it used to loop aroud part of the engine bay and clip onto a bracket then when accellerating it used to pivot towards the front of the car
now there seems nowhere to place the accelerator cable as it pivots away from the front of the car,
a picture of yours would be good to see satelliteone
is there anyway i could have mounted the carb 180 degrees out?

Ok m8, will get some pics up for you. My cable comes from the left and circles around into the front of the carb. Would of thought it would be the same as yours, but your comming from the right.
