mk1 caddy 1.6 8v petrol engine mods?

hello guys new to this forum melarky, just looking for some help and expertise on how to get the most out of my little 1.6 8v found in my mk caddy, sorry its not a golf but its pretty close.

Depends on how big your wallet is :lol:Are you wanting to keep the same engine, what sort of increase are you after, is the car for road use? More power means you need better brakes etc…..

A little more info may help with your answers. :thumbs:

well honestly id like to place a larger engine in such as a 2.0 16v in but im not to confident on whether im capable of doing that myself. my wallet isnt too large but willing to consider some things if the ol' 1.6 can get a little mor umph out of it.

Do you know your engine code? Just need the first 2 letters, my 1.6 Scirocco is a FR.
What year is the car?
Guess it's got a carb?
don't know what engines are fitted to caddy's.
