Mk1 Cabrio 1.5

Hello all. I just found this great forum! Congratulations

I'm the recent owner of one of this cars and I'm just about to start an overall engine check-up.
As the topic subject says, my engine is a 1457cc, code JB (unfortunatelly is not yet mentioned on the section detail  :( ).

The thing that is worring me is the fact that the Cylinder head has the "1.6H" designation on it (between the spark plugs and the head cover)!!

Is this normal?? I read somewhere that this is not a worry because this is the usual designation for all 1.5 - 1.7 engines! Is it really??

Many thanks.
Greetings from Portugal!
PS: sorry my English…

Hi to Portugal!

I reminded Drew (our site admin) to add JB to the section detail.

Yes, I think "1.6" cast in the head is normal as I remember it on my JB Golf GX. I think the JB head is the same as the 1588 FP, etc which is it's predecessor.
