Mk1 Cab Alternator/drive/fan belt
Hey hey people.
Just taken ownership of a '89 Mk1 cab and on the way home there was a tremendous whine. know its the alternator belt but can someone point out where i can get one? Will halfools have one i can get? Would it be obvious i.e a guide or does someone know the size/teeth of a replacement one? If someone could post a link or part number it would be apprecited.
Charrrs!

Your local GSF (German Swedish & French) have them bud, just tell them what engine size you have and ask for fan belt, cheap as chips
Congrats on owning a floppy, someone has too
Welcome to site fella

13mm spanner, 22mm (iirc) an that should be it,
10 mins top easy as,
that noise could be caused by the belt being too tight or slack, check inbetween the teath fror cracking on the old belt.
always handy to keep a spare, luckaly i kept my old one, new one snapped, no fan belt= no alternator or water pump, watch the gauge rise with no pump lol

Don't take it personal bud, it is a common bit of banter between all us mk1 owners, I get told mines not a real mk1, do i care, not at all.
I can't see how it will reflect in any future anwsers to your questions.
It was a warm welcome, sense of humour
