leaking weber

hi all

Can anyone help this problem i have. I've fitted a weber carb to my mk1 1.8 clipper and it's leaking fuel. I replaced the rubber seal that sits between the adaptor plate and inlet manifold. When i take the carb off the gasket between the carb and adapter plate seems to be soaked. Any ideas why this would be???
