leak!!!
Hi all
I have a leak which looks like its coming from the radiator. I have checked the hoses but cant see any obvious leaks or moisture around each one. The leak is coming from directly under the rad,but cannot see where exactly as there is the guard in the way. The rad is around 2 years old. Are there any connections under the radiator or at the bottom of it? There doesnt seem to be any moisture from the front of the rad either. Any help or ideas etc would be appreciated.
Thanks guys
Ben

The valve on the side seems dry too. It only leaks when the engine is running so i guess it is just the rad.

should be some white tell tale marks that will show where the leak is coming from.
Places that seem obvious are the temp sender as already mentioned and where the top holder bars go into the rad. These rust over time and then expand damaging the rad.
dont forget to budget for new coolent as well.

Right ive now found the leak was coming from the rad cap. (Can hear the laughtlers!!!)
It was, to be honest, after i topped the water up, so could some one please clarify 2 things for me:
1. The cap has an automatic lift on it when there is too much water in the system and needs to expell some (possibly due to overfilling/topping the water up?)
and
2. The cap should not be fully tightened (ive been told by a few mechanics that the cap should be slightly un done for pressure reasons and by others that it needs to be as tight as your hand can tighten normally so the system is pressured correctly)
Thank you guys
