Ideas on a carb???

Hi guys, just got my 1.6 engine out of a mk1 scirroco, unfortunately it has the carb missing, does anyone know which one i will need ( or even if i can use the carb off my 1.1) ????
any help would be great

hi m8 the carb u need is the pierburg 1b3 which was fitted to both 1.5 and 1.6 scirocco/golf engines to 1983.contact me in a few days i may have one spare amongst my old vw bits :wink:

That would be great if you have one, what sort of money would you be talking and would you be able to post?
Also do you know if there is a weber that will fit this engine?

             I have a 1b3 from my x reg 1.5 fella, the carb you need for your 1.6 is the pierburg 2e2 fella, these you can get on the mk2 golfs also so you'll have more chance of getting hold of one.

Also if you want to go for a weber, you want the 32/34 type bud

hi fella how many holes are there for carb fitment on your manifold?if there are two you need a 1b3,if there are three you need a 2e2.i have a 1b3 removed from an a reg mk1 1.6,i also have a 2e2 which i bought off ebay which was described as mk1 golf 1.6 but it didnt fit my golf hope this helps.

Just had a look at the inlet manifold that came with the engine and it has 4 stud holes for the carb to bolt to ( just my luck ) Could this be because its off a scirocco and not a golf?? I'd post a picture of it if i knew how to :dontknow:

Cracked it!!!! here are the pics of the inlet manifold, so does anyone know if its the 1B3 or the 2E2???

You need a pierburg 2E2 fella, this is the carb flange you need, available from Dealers, gsf and eurocarparts
