HELP !! Oil Buzzer sounding??

In the last two days my oil buzzer has been going off, i have checked the oil levels and they all seem fine, however this morning on the way in to work after about 2 miles it started two intermitently sound and then after a further mile stopped sounding alltogether. does this mean the oil pump is on the way out, and how can i check.....where can you get a replacement and are they easy to fix if this is the case.

It is normally a good sign the oil pump is on its way out.

When the oil is cold it is obviously thicker and so is easier for the pump to push oil round at a greater pressure. When the oil warms up then oil pressure will drop as the oil gets thinner and the pump can't push it round aswell. If the pump is on its way out then it's more difficult for it to keep a high enough pressure to keep the oil pressure switch open when the oil is warm and thinner. Best to get it replaced sooner than later for the cost of a pump. Cheaper than an engine change anyway.

To change the oil pump i believe the oil sump has to come off as it is located underneath the dizzy, correct me if i'm wrong, but i think this can be done with the engine in from underneath the car.

well om the way home tonight the buzzer did not soun so i have changed the sender to see if it is that, and i will keep an eye on the rest, where is the best place to get one?oil pump that is...

Was with crazy quiff and i had this problem when it was damp occasionally. Whacked the top of the dash and the noise stops straight away. Its a poor connection behind the instrumentation panel in my case. Worth looking into as its quite common apparently
