Yes, if the original carb is the dreaded Pierburg 2e2/2e3. I had this conversion done on my old cabriolet.

Also worth doing is the exhaust manifold because it is, in a word rubbish, on the 1.6 and 1.8 carb engines.

Better fuel economy, more power and much nicer throttle response.

Recommended, if you can cope with the manual choke! Very Retro :wink:

Our Clipper automatic has a Weber - huge difference.
My old 1.5 GLS had one fitted too, and it went like a rocket after.

Only criticism is that the manual choke is rather stiff.

Owning a Mk1 cabby is a vertical learning curve…
