hi.ive got a 91 golf cabrio with the 1800 carb engine,but i wandering whats the best, cheapest and easiest way to get rid of the carb and the awful choke.Any ideas please. :dontknow:

gettin rid of carb
it runs very bad in hard rain,and ive been told that its probably the carb. its had the jets all cleaned.the carb has been set up properly on a crypton. and the the choke is just plain annoying. :dontknow:

Its probably ignition rather than carb. Who advised you it was carb? Did they look at the car? Did they use diagnostic equipment on it? Familiar with carbs or perhaps a garage used to fuel injected cars coming in, and not quite knowing what to do with it?
I'd start by checking the HT leads and their connections are secure, etc.

Agree with paul on this one, and choke being annoying can only be that it is not setup correctly
