G12 plus coolant

Hi all,

I'm going to replace my water pump this weekend, so when I replace the coolant I want to use G12 plus.
The guy in the dealers told me I need to use it neat, is this true?
I always thought it must be mixed 50/50 with distilled water.

Thanks!

I thought undiluted would gel up and cause problems!
Maybe some places sell a pre-mix version and some sell straight coolant. Just check the bottle carefully and see if it's pre-mix. The pre-mix should say so on the bottle.  :dontknow:

pretty sure he talking pap, if you look at the lable it should tell you what mixture of coolant is recommened for winter & summer.  I just use 50/50 all year round as its easy to measure.

the last bottle of G12+ coolant I bought had the mixture recomendations on the back.

Why not just use plain old coolant?

Depends which brand the dealer sells, after all Comma sell Xstream Red Longlife - Concentrated Antifreeze (which conforms to AUDI/SEAT/SKODA/VW (TL774D/F) and satisfies their G12/G12+ specification) and Xstream Red Longlife - Ready to use Coolant.

Off topic, but this is no longer the latest coolant available - there was G12++ which is coded VW TL 774-G and contains BASF GLYSANTIN G40 (for 2007-2009 era) and now there's BASF GLYSANTIN G48 (planned as new fill for 2010 onwards).

G12++

Hi,
Can you use G12++ coolant in a golf Mk1 Gti engine code DX (1991)?
Thanks for any clarity on this.
