Fitting weber carb

Hi,

Been fitting new weber carb today and hubby eants to know whether we should be sealing around the gasket? Means nothing to me but he's crap on puters :oops:
Doesn't say owt on instructions but just checkin b4 we carry on

i have never used sealer, i only use the gaskets, as the sealer could get in the carb and block a jet up.

Provided that the mating faces are clean and flush I would say no, don't bother. There can be issues around erratic tickover if it sucks air either at the carb to manifold, or manifold to head faces, but providing you're using good gaskets it should be fine without.

I used to be a great fan of Hylomar, Hermetite and others, but you can't beat good, clean joints in my opinion.
