FASTER CARB?????

Hi guys!
Im new here and im from South Africa!

I have a 1981 Mk1 golf!
I have fitted a 1.8 polo motor and changed it to Carb!
So now i would like to make it a bit FASTER!
I have already fitted a branch and freeflow system!
I was told to upgrade my jets and make the first stage and second stage open together!  (can this be done?)
I am not a car boffin but i love my speed!
Is there anything that i can do tomake this car faster?
Fuel consumption is NOT a problem it CAN BE HEAVY on petrol!

Hi and firstly welcome to the site. What fuel injection system was initially on the engine? In other words, which Polo, which year (and fill us in if the SA models are different to what was in the UK at the time).

Well i think it is the MP9 or something! 2000 modle!
