ENGINE REBUILD

Does anyone know if there is a step by step guide to re-building a 1600cc diesel engine anywhere on this forum or on another site ?:dontknow:

I agree! The Haynes manual for the diesel quite often comes up on ebay for a couple of quid…I'll let you know if I spot one.

David,its a dear game to properly recon a diesel engine,you need specialist tools,and if its worn to exess you will need a bore job and pistons etc,i found it easier and cheaper to get another engine.
I have a 1.6D engine that had been in my lock up covered in oil for 15 years so it shouldnt be worn,its bosch injection,you be better fitting that.

I dont think that there is anything wrong with it but i am going to take it out of the car when im spraying it and i was just going to take some of it apart and replace any bits that look worn if there are any.
