Engine problem.

Hi … I've recently joined the golf forum. I have a Mk 1 golf clipper G reg … I have done only 200 miles in the last 2 years!! The car is garaged and starts every time after one or two attempts. Once up to temperature it starts to cut out?! Not sure if it's the carb … Looking for a mechanic or advice? Live in Sedgley in the Midlands if anybody knows of anyone let me know … Cheers Doug.

have a read of the 2e2 faq guide if its the original carb, if its a weber then the guide is no good to you

It sounds like vac issue.
Remove carb and check carb flange which is rubber and black, unbolt it from manifold via the 4 10mm bolts, check underside and inside the inner rim, for splits, bubbles, causing this will be leaking air.
Or any vac pipe located around the carb  :wink:
