engine cutting out, please help

please help people, i have a 1993 clipper carb, starting is no problem, but after driving for about 5 mins the revs go all funny and i start to loose power and engine cuts out. :banghead: then i restart but cuts out again, but if i floor it and then start it seems to be ok after a bit  :dontknow:

could it be dirt in carb?  :dontknow:

Check for vacuum leaks and the condition of the rubber mount below the carb.  I've vastly improved this mount by smearing silicone over the rubber to seal all the cracks.

Otherwise might be carb icing - check the diverter flap is working and all the necessary to get the heat onto the carb.

Did any of the suggestiosn help in getting your mk1 fixed?

I have the same problem and ebay is starting to look promising!!

Changed the pierburg to a new weber and new fuel filter etc, nothing….drove for 8miles before cutting out (furthest I have ever got!)

I personally feel it maybe my carb icing as my fuel filter is brand spankers!!
Also the connection on my carb heater element seemed really flimsy (pn the unit itself, think maybe that could be a problem??

Hope you can help me!!
