engine conversion

can anyone tell me what engines will fit into a mk1 golf clipper 1.8 8v without to much trouble and cost i would like a faster engine as the one already in it and need to change engine as bottom end has gone. ty

The problem with upgrading a Clipper is you'll need to change a lot of bits of the fuel system to use fuel injection, which is what most engine conversions for more power use. Other than that, its the same as any other, can't really add anything to the guide on the left.
