dx head (gti) to ex block (carb)

got a 1.8 EX carb engine in alrede but ive got a gti head and block in the shed.
guna get a weber replacement and alrede have a 4branch.
wat i was thinking is wen i get the weber and i have to do the clutch and cambelt anyway and probaly do the head gasket at the same time would it be worth chucking the gti head on it at the same time?
ill sort the inj holes out before and the manifold wont need the water way as theres no autochoke?right?
i know theres other bits etc that would need doin but if im guna do the clutch,gasket and belts etc il probaly drop the engine out.

but will there be much point?

or could i just put the gti head back on the gti bottom and run a weber replacement on that or bike carbs? dont wana do all the injection etc

does the gti bottom differ much to the EX?performance wise?

any thoughts on wat would work better.
