Hi people i have an 87 1.6 carb cabby and havd to emergency change the dizzy cap today so got one from eurocarpart and fitted it and all good, as far as im aware, after looking on avs afterwords i have discovered that they have possibly given me the wrong one! the code on the one theyve given me is vk106 and it says on avs that one is for 1.6s up to 84, the code for mine is vk355, will this cause me any problems running with this wrong dizzy cap on? Seemed to run ok after i fitted it but only went on quick lap of the village so not 100% sure! thanks for any help

The differance between the dissy caps is the way the HT leads fit, it's the way they fit under the rubber boot that is differant.

If the HT leads match the fitting then don't worry if it's all working OK but if they are differant then change the cap as it may be working now but it's not ideal.
How old are your HT leads, rotor arm?

There is also 2 types/makes of dissy a Bosch or Ducellier/Valeo ,

Early ones look like this and the HT lead has a fat end which fits inside the connection. (Bosch system)

Later caps look like this with a pin for a connection (Bosch system)

End of HT lead with the newer pin connector. (Bosch system)
