Distributor Swap?

Could I fit a complete Bosch distributor, in place of the original Valeo? I suspect I'm having problems with the hall sender and GSF/ECP don't supply a replacement sender for the Valeo, the engine is a 1.8 EX code, with the TCi-h ignition module, any advice would be appreciated…

make sure its a k-jet gti one though, carby one arnt quite the same but will work if you have no other option. gotta be the type with a vac unit on the side and 3 pin hall sensor plug
