Crankshaft pully bolts

Hello, I went to change my timing belt on my 1990 clipper, but could not remove the crankshaft pully as the 4 bolts were rounded off, seems like an air gun has been used previously to refit.

Would anyone happen to know the size of the bolts used for the crankshaft pully?  As the current ones will be of no use when I manage to get them off.

Regards

Paul

a 12point socket over em, worked a treat for me, iirc it was a 13mm?  The bolts you want are:
N   903 086 05 - hex socket head with collar, M8x14

I'm fitting stainless ones when I re fit mine. Dunno the size as yet, but will do in a day or two. Prob cheaper the VW part and more durable (and shiny)

Also we got mine out using a torx type bit driven into the rounded allen head.
The guy who's doing the tricky bits for me is a VW tech, and this is a common problem

Projekt Frustration :

White 1991 Clipper. Lowered over polished zender rims, Single 40 dellorto on lynx manifold, kent cam, full stainless 'zorst / manifold, powerflex bushed and braced. Not the fastest car, but sounds super nice!

Still going after 12 years… never said it was a quick fix! Time is not my friend.

make sure they're strong enough, stainless arnt usually rated up to the same tensile as normal bolts.  IIRC they need to be 10.9 on the crank bolts?
