carb movement

hi just been looking to see why cars playing up and noticed the carb will move quite a bit side to side , could this mean the rubber gasket/mount is knackered or do they have a bit of play in them cheers j

There should be some movement , ie float when rocked from side to side.  They do perish with age , so quickest way of checking is either rock the carb and see what happens when engine is running or check for an air leak by squirting something like brake cleaner, and I mean just a quick squirt close to rubber mount.  If engine revs rise or fall when at idle, then yes you have an air leak

With all your different posts may I suggest you start just one thread with your fault, then list down what you have checked and eliminated so far….. Makes it easier for those later who may have better or differet ideas than me

only a couple bolts hold the carb on so will take all of 2 minutes to lift it off for a visual check. just make sure the carb is always sat level otherwise you'll dump all the fuel out of it

just lift it off and swing it across a bit then sit it on a towel or something, no need to disconnect any of the lines or cables plenty of slack.

if flange is fubar mk2 1.6/8 will fit:
