Carb Choice?

I currently have a 2e pierburg carb on my 1.8 rocco engine that ive had put in my golf.
Its had a make shift air filter put on, but the bolts have sheered and now it not realy much use.
So im in need of a new one do i go out and get the same or is there any other carbs that are better that will fit?
As ive heard the 2e pierburg carbs are'nt so good???

Help would really be apreciated

You can fit a weber 32/34 carb mate, but it'll have to be correctly set up for  your engine, although I have ahad a fair bit of good advise on here about refurbing your old peirburg 2e2, there's a sticky at the top of the page, and i'm sure rubjonny will be along to answer any queries you may have, he's very knowledgeable, and there a few others too..  Get the Haynes carb manual and give it a refurb, you can get a kit to do it, if the bolts have sheared, drill them out and retap the holes if necessary…  It's a good carb if you get it running right…

Weber 32/34 carb new from crazyquiffs.co.uk is about £217…
