Car running faults

Hi,
I have  a Mk1 Golf Driver 1.3 and i have recently had the oil over filled and since then the car works for some time and then cuts off as though there is no fuel. I have changed all the electrical side anyway and fuel filters etc and no joy. it will start sometimes and runs fine and then  after some time the engine cuts and i am left rolling to the side of the raod. Trying to start the car again is a no go until i have left it for some time and then it is ok and then after 1-2 miles the same again. it is not temp as the temp is fine. Any ideas?
I have checked the fuel lines as well and it is like the fule will not spark but as i said the electrics are changed ….

Rust in tank , blocked fuel lines , blocked filters , fuel tank breather problem .

If as you say you have checked all the ignition side then you need to delve in fuel side . When it cuts out does the fuel delivery cease ? If so you need to find out why .
