Can anyone in or around Doncaster help me & earn a few q
Hi All,
I have a 1990 white 1.8 Clipper Automatic that's a great car in good nick, but I'm sure the carb needs a good case of looking at.
I had it serviced yesterday to hopefully resolve the dying revs when I initially start her up when cold, it is better due to an air intake issue being resolved, but it still isn't right & the smell of a rich mixture is always evident.
My knowledge of such things is not great (that's me being kind to me), but I do know we're not far away from owning a car to be proud of.
Thanks for reading & here's hoping…..
Chris

have you stripped the carb and cleaned the injectors out? could just be that, might be worth nipping her up to a mate of mine, Dave Lilley motors on green lane, scawsby, he just behind top gear performance tell him chris sent ya, other than that you could check the rubber grommet that fits under the carb onto the manifold, these crack and split and can cause problems with the mixture (id check it first), if your not sure, pm me and ill have a look with ya. Is your cabby a white one with a black roof?
