Battery light flickering

Evening guys

I have a 1982 1.5 5 door GL. When she ticks over, the red battery light flickers. Is this just me being too picky? or is my alternator on its last legs?

What rpm does it tick over on?

What's the voltage when its doing this?

about 800rpm, I'm not sure about the voltage. I'll have a look tomorrow

try increasing it to 900rpm, if that doesnt help look at the brush pack on the rear of the alternator held on with 2 screws. make sure all the metal contact areas are clean. do the same for all the battery cabling as ell
