ARGGHHHH cambelt alingment problems

right then, as you may no if u have been reading my posts im doing a 2litre 8valve conversion,
im using the 3e bottom block out of a passat 1995 and a mk2 golf head 1800 carb (non GTi)
as i was told im using the 2e bottom end belt kit,
got a new belt and tensioner,

im trying to align all the marks the camshaft with the backplate mark, and the crank on tdc with the aux sprocket that drives the dizzy and oil pump,
i get them all lined up and when i go to tension it the crank moves slightly and the marks change but my cam marks stay the same!  :banghead:  i spent an hour or so last night doing it and again tonight. i must of smoked 20 fags last night and 20 tonight.
im putting it on the crank then working anti clockwise round to the aux sprocket then up to the cam then on the tensioner, im trying to get the belt as tight as i can between the auxilary pully and the camshaft but it seams a little saggy but i cant get it another tooth without moving the pully and the crank pulley,
can someone poing me in the right direction? and save me buying lots more fags for the rest of the week

Hello mate.
It looks fine to me, remember when you have got it running (which im sure it will set like it is) you will be able to fine adjust the timing by rotating the dizzy housing.
Dont panic and dont smoke it will kill you.
Turn it over by hand just to check it first.

It looks to be a tooth out, just allow for this when you fit the belt (ie set it a tooth behind knowing it will move a tooth forward) when your happy with it gently and slowlt turn the engine over by hand using a spanner on the crank pulley (never use the cam pulley to turn an engine over), not see if the timing marks are still all lining up :)

so what your saying is,
if i get the crank and the cam pully lined up spot on, and then get the dizzy and oil pump pully somewhere about right i can fine adjust it by turning the dizzy in the block?
