air cleaner for weber 36 TLP
i can't find a filter that is the correct size to fit on there.. anyone have any ideas? i measured it (the top of the carb) at about 81 or 82 mm
that gold-colored top bracket is off now

So keep your tin airbox, don't sling it and keep the bracket

Ok where i have put the arrow, the part that a bolt goes in, simply get your tin air filter box, look underneath and you'll see it has a lip all the way round, simply cut abit of the lip away with a dremmel, just wide enough same as width of the bracket part i am pointing arrow too and your air filter box will then sit on nicely, done this on mine and 2 friends 1.5's also
If your unsure what i am trying to explain i will remove my strut brace and remove my air box to show you, simple job, 1 minute and it's done

i rolled the inside of the lip with a rachet handle.
works proper now.. i took off the front of the airbox and am just running the K+N.. it pulls a little better than with that restrictive air tunnel

i think people are a little caught up on that warm air feed i have seen a ton of setups that don't use anything like it. my dad's carb'd rabbit has no warm air feed and most i've seen simply run a filter on it.

we get all sorts of foul weather.. i just think the negatives of the warm air feed outweigh the positive.. plus i'm not even sure if mine functions properly?
this way it still gets warm air from around the engine compartment
