Acceleration lag

Since I have had the carb replaced on my golf I have had this problem with the accelerator. It normal happens when changing from first to second and whenever im in 4th / 5th. Ill have my foot off the accelerator and when I put it back on to accelerate there is about a 1/2 second to 1 second delay for the acceleration to kick in.
I know that the carb is clean as its a reconditioned one in great condition.

How do I fix this? what sort of adjustment should I make to the carb?

Thanks
Harry

Was the carb setup properly etc? Is the timing correct?

What engine/carb is it?
