2nd opinion

hi peeps i bought a 84 1.6 cabby yesterday after doing about 50miles it conked out i pulled in for 10mins and it was fine for another 30miles until it stopped again,its not overheating.what could be the most common problem?coil/dizzy?im really pi@$ed off as i had to get recovered 170miles from home,any help please,cheers  

what other symptoms do you get? does the power come and go before it dies on you? it could be a number of things.. check the fuel filler neck and fuel filter first..! :roll:

was it damp out? could be carb icing if so. check airbox is oem, the warm air pipe and metal shround on exhaust manifold is there and finally the vac lines to the side of the airbox are in place. there is a flap in the front of the airbox which should be opened when the engien is running, if you whip the airbox off and look down the front o it you can just see it
