16V KR with r6 bike carbs running issues
i recently aquired a mk1 as an unfinished project and im starting to slowly troubleshoot the niggles.
the car has the 16v kr lump with r6 bike carbs and standard ecu, basically when i bought it it was described unfinished project etc as carbs need setting up and other bits, this is something im planning on doing soon either way but my question is as follows…
between 2-3k revs it holds back/misfires almost as if its over/under fuelling but one thing i have noticed is when the key is put in the ignition there is a clicking from behind the drivers seat where the fuel tank is which continues when the engine is running. Do you think this could be related or be causing any problems or do you think the poor running is purely down to the carbs.
I appreciate its a bit of a how long is a piece of string kind of question but im keen for any input as would rather learn more about how the car works than pay someone to fix it.
Kind Regards

As for misfiring/holding back. That should be the mixture setup. A screw under each inlet in a sleeve kinda thing can't miss it. Tighten it, unscrew 2.5 turns on each then turn half a turn on each until mic tire feels better, ignition will also want adjusting as you do this.

Can only go off my pump being and r1 pump, worked fine, correct pressure, but clicked slightly. Could be a facet pump in it though and not bike pump.
Loosen the distributer on the side of the head and turn clockwise/anti clockwise until it feels right. Ross Irvine helped me with mine lol I just observed that bit.

dont fancy drilling the jets myself sounds like it could be expensive if i cock it up, any way of checking if they have already been done ?
i take it the micro drill 1 refers to 1mm ? so could i simply measure one of the jets ?
cheers
