1.6 to 1.8 on autobox

as above i think my 1.6 carb is on its way and have found a 1.8 on carbs however the 1.6 is on an auto box will the 1.8 fit and run ok with out any major problems

yes swap over everything that is different, you'll need the 1.8 carb though but as long as its the same type the auto parts will fit it. but in what way is the old engine failing?

Cheers for that she is making rather a lot of clattering noise which i think is on the box side of the lump.

hmm if its the box then you'll have to get yourself another as there isnt much info on fixing them other than 'change the oil'

unless you mean you want to go manual?

not sure if box or lump not too interested in going manual as have ankle problems at times. will have to do a bit more investigating me thinks.

ok well 1st thing I'd do is put fresh oil and filter i nthe auto box, see how that goes. step 1 on any potential issue with automatic
