1.5gl wont idle!

it does not matter if it is hot or cold, i think it is something to do with the carb, i have tried running from a jerry can eliminating tank, the lift pump is new, there seems to be plenty of fuel getting to the carb. when i rev it its perfect, it just will not idle. if i get it started and then spray carb cleaner into the carb as a substitution for fuel it idles perfect. is there anything i can do with the carb, ive cleaned the jets etc, and tried adjusting the mixture but no joy.

it ok found out what it was, the solonoid on th carb was sticking, so took it out cleaned it, put it back….. hey presto!  problem solved.

Hi mate I have exactly the same problem as you! Just wondered what the part is I should be taking out.. Where abouts on the carb it is located etc. Would be grateful for any help..

as you look at the engine, on the front of the carb there is a solonoid with a wire going to it, when you turn your engine on you should here this click, if not it prob faulty. unscrew that part if you can and clean it up it may just be sticking. if  not you will have to buy a new one. chris
