Hi
I'm looking for a technical characteristic of 1.5 and 1.6 Vw diesiel motors, especially for power and torqe curves. Can anyone tell me where I can find it?

Would be interesting to see the diagrams mrad! Not sure how you could get them on here though? 1.6 Diesel = 100NM at 3000rpm (73.4 lbs.ft.)
I agree Bert, I've been doing a few motorway/dual carriageway miles in mine recently and it never fails to reach 105mph. Not bad eh? That's on a PRIVATE stretch of land of course, cough cough. I've seen off modern Turbo diesels and similar without even trying (some clearly were), and it still accelerates easily past things from 80mph - just a squeeze of the accelerator and you're away! The fuel guage hardly moved either. It never ceases to amaze me! I wouldn't try it in a four speed though! Glad your enjoying yours! 5 speeds are brill !

Diesel dubber, try some cooking oil,44p per liter, mix it half a tank of oil half a tank of diesel, smells nice too.
My diesel is still in my mates unit, crazyguiff (top man) got me some new rear arch spats so i can finish the outside off,tomo320 and his array of cars on his drive  got me a new carpet to replace the lino vw fitted,it now has a cd player, immobiliser which i fitted when the dash was out, and i have wired up the oil temp guage which was not connected.
just needs a polish and shes ready for a trip to wolfsburg with these lot. :cheer:

You and your cookin oil! They do 60mpg as it is! Might be tempted though. I'm aiming to tidy mine up some more too, and make the club meet in August. Crazyquiff sorted me out with some undented doors, Tomo supplied a better bonnet (mine flew up at 55mph not long ago - just replaced the hinges, altered the catch and sprayed over the damage for now!) and fitting a new front panel and lower rear panel. Probably change the wings aswell, and rear arches. Then a respray. She won't know what's hit her! That's it then though…surely the engine won't keep going for another 100,000?! What was that record for one of yours again? 325,000?!
