1.5 carb fuel question

I have a 1.5 carb, currently looking at the fuel system, can anyone tell me what the plastic black cylinder is above the fuel pump on the engine with 3 fuel pumps attached to it?

Thanks

fuel reservoir, its there to filter out air bubbles and provide a bit of fuel reserve

Thanking you for that! So if I see bubbles traveling through the clear section of piping I shouldn't worry too much?

Could this get rust deposits from
Fuel tank in it?

you ideally shouldnt see many air bubbles, if you do get a lot of them double check all the lines are secure and in good condition. if in doubt replace all the rubbers as they're cheap and easy. put a new filter on as well. if the tank/neck has suffered from rust issues it could well have made it to the reservoir and carb, if have it all off and give good clean, strip carb and rebuild with refurb kit. there are lots of tiny jets inside that will clog up if the tiniest bit of dirt gets thru the filter

Thanks for the info,  any idea where I can get a new reservoir from? Can't seem to find on Internet anywhere :(

if you suspect the reservoir bypass it for now, cap off the fuel return. if its better keep an eye out for another reservoir but its fine to run without the reservoir short term. seen plenty dubs in my time that have been like that for years
