Convoy - Coombe Abbey -> Heritage Motor Museum (Gaydon)
Some of you may know this, some may not but I'm organising the Rally this year, so I know where we're going (kinda ) but i'm not gonna tell you yet!
I'm just wondering how many of us are going to be doing this so I have an idea of how many cars are gonna crash into the back of mine?
The rally route is around 40-45 miles long with one stop half way through at a great location, we'll be leaving around 2pm on the Saturday and will be making it back for the beers mid afternoon!
I'd love to get everyone who is coming on the Saturday involved in this as it should be a great drive on some nice country roads and a real spectacle for people to see so many golfs in a convoy.
I think last year from memory we had 37? (please correct me if I'm wrong!) I'd love to get nearer the 50-60 mark this year and it shouldn't be too hard due to the clubs growth over the last 12 months!
If you're more than 50% on doing this then just enter the poll at the top.
Can't wait for the AGM this year, i'm excited already as I know a lot of you are!
See you all there!
some more info!
I can now confirm that the Convoy (has to be called this for insurance purposes - thanks Ant!) will be going from Coombe Abbey to The Heritage Motor Musuem - Gaydon where the first two years of the AGM was held!
The drive there will be a completely rural one on A & B roads going through picturesque villages and winding roads, it's approx 21 miles!
As to timing it will be after the general meeting on Saturday so depending if we run over we should be leaving at 2pm.
When we get there we'll be hanging around for a bit for photos and go into the musuem if you so wish - I have been given a discounted price of ?7.50 for entrance (normal pirce is ?9.50) i'll confirm all on the day!
The ride back is a slightly different route and will be approx 20 miles.
If you want to do this make sure you have enough petrol to complete, however there is a petrol station about 0.2 of a mile from the museum.
There's a few speed cameras on route so lets make sure we keep our speed limits down, i have marked these on the route plan so no excuses people!
Drive By Shooters will be covering the Convoy so make sure you wear your smiles cause they will be doing on route shots!
I hope we have the weather for this one and I hope you will all join me!
