vw passat clutch has gone
hi i have a passat 2ltr 8v petrol estate 2000plate as my other car and the clutch has just gone can anyone give me some advice on how much its going to cost to get fixed as i havent a clue n worried its going to cost more than the car is worth

Av never personaly priced the job but theres gotta be up to £1000 for the passat so its certinly shouldnt cost you that! Try euro car parts for a price for your clutch n add about 100 for labour to fit. Shop around most places will give you a rough estimate of cost

turns out its the flywheel been quoted 600 but offered 500 for car and its prob only worth 1100 anyways so gonna let them have it i think. Thanks for your advice and time

Not a bad offer if its totaly undriveable but what exactlys wrong wiith the flywheel as i havent heard of a knakered flywheel before? Its basically a plate with teeth
On it that being the case theres not much to go wrong with it.

Not sure when the dual mass flywheel (DMF) was introduced but if it has got one then it'll be that!

Fair point it had came in on 20v by 1996 but dunno about the 8vs though!

passat clutch
i have 1.8t a6 estate clutch gone you are said to change flywheel
when you change clutch.found 1 on ebay that has solid flywheel
conversion with new clutch for 165.00+10.00p+p.

cheers guys im cutting my losses with it and taking the money to find a runaround for work n surfing dont really want to use the mk1 for that
