Funny that, I have a white cab like you have in your sig pic. Yes, it has the Recaro's and it goes quite well, but I would like a Kent FR30 or 32 to finish it. I've wrecked a fair few myself over the years…………..

Just love an old Ford. At one time they were on every street corner, then just seemed to vanish overnight. You've a lovely example there, look after her !  Top of the range too. Spot lights, sports wheels with trim rings - very nice. Just a small suggestion  - replace those missing mudflaps to stop stonechips.

Mudflap now replaced with original mudflaps. I also own a mk5 estate in the same colour and the same year. My Dad bought it with his rdundancy money back in 1983 and it was our family car. Dad passed away last year and I would now like to restore it to its former glory. Here is a pic of the two cars on my wedding day back in 2008.

What a nice pair. The estate looks as clean as its brother. Looks already restored !

When I read MK5 and not VW I just knew it was going to be a Tina!!

Had a few of these myself over the years. I restored a MK3 in 1994 and sold it just 2 years ago to make more room for Golfs. Don't regret selling it. They handled like dogs and were fairly thirsty!

In fact I came across my void bush removing tool the other day and thought what do I still want that for?…….but then again

They were so simple to work on though.

I bangered a few over the years as well. From MK3's to MK5's.
Perhaps us old banger racers should start another thread with photos of our bangers.

Here's the last picture I took of my MK3 just  before I sold after 17years of ownership.

Modena green ? Very nice. With the right mods, they can be made to handle quite well, but rear wheel drive take a bit more concentration !

Yes, Modena Green  - that was the colour it came out the factory! It was a 1.6XL originally.

It had spax shockers, better springs, 2.3 roll bars, poly bushes, Capri LSD in the back. Still was a hand full! Good fun with the diff in though - Used to get some right "Sweeny moments".

It also had a Oselli fast road head+cam, twin 45's and Nitrous but I took all that off when I sold it.

I nearly dropped a fast road essex v6 in it but then I got married and it all went down hill from there!!

I ended up putting the Essex in my Landrover a few years later which is on here in another thread.
