Hey guys thanks for all the
Iv not been on for a while as iv been detoxing a bit.. Iv took the mk2 off the road as the tax was up and want to give it a rest from its daily chore and hide it from the forth coming salt.. I'm hoping to strip it sometime in the winter time and get it in for a nice fresh coat of paint and some powder coating in the bay. So here's hoping.
It went on the rolling road after this and was putting out 240bhp at the fly and 280lb torque.
The boost was tweaked to 1.5 bar then it made 270bhp fly and 341lb torque… So 227bhp at the wheels up 30bhp and 60 odd lb..
I dont know how the numbers would compare to other rollers but the graph tells the story. Shows the ko4 is running out of puff a top end to.
The lower pink curve is its first run and the top is how it left so a noticeable difference in delivery and peak power. The torque is very high and the rods might be on the limit so Iv just been squeezing the pedal now..
Iv changed the plugs to one stage colder copper ngk and opened the gap a bit.
Some wood under the ramps as its a bit on the low side Davie said
So its now fair to say its a bit wilder and the clutch is finding it hard to cope.. But the torque feels nuts
There's a mk1 20v turbo that's my mates in the vids. Totally stripped out with perpex windows, cage, super light bucket seats qpeng, apy s3 lump, lsd goes like stink

Good numbers there Chris. 1.5 bar should be pretty safe too I guess?
I like the 16v badge on the back still, uber stealthy!

I forgot to reply last night Andy 1.5bar is pretty much its limit and cant push anymore. It will reduce its life but safe on the engine. The only thing is the torque peaking at +343lb that's pushing it a bit with the timing so might get that toned down a bit when its back on the road

Built to go not for show
On the way to the bigger show

On the way back from the show (this is a good vid!!)

I had just fitted a forge actuator the day before and it wasnt set up right, plus it was running rich on overrun so was being a bit gentle on the way throu! On the way back was great fun thou as it was running sweet!
Other cars are +280bhp mk1 golf, stripped out Perspex widows feather weight seats and a Passat R36 which I think is or was vws fastest production motor
Before remap

Tried to get an after but I think the speedo cable died hahhaa

Up 30bhp and 60lb torque since
Don't think Knockhill will happen in this now as its getting stripped for paint soon and its to comfy

Missed out on a super hybrid on ebay yesterday rated to 350+bhp.. Kind of deliberately.. Regret it now maybe but there's stuff in the pipe line

Thought I would add these pics to keep the mk2s progress upto date
The day came to get it out of its factory paint
Was happy as there was no real rust.
A small bit on the back panel and a small repair on the scuttle all else was good.
