Finally behaving itself now hopefully over the worst of the grief. because it so bare bones in there (I haven't even got a cigarette lighter to charge my phone!) i'm having trouble tring to find a switched feed to run my 2 knobber jobber from and cant find any spare pins on the fusebox to run a feed from. . Onwards and upwards, going in next wednesday to have the rot at the bottom of the screen pillars sorted out. second hand diesel pump purchased (thanks superpete) and new head gasket ordered, Things are definately looking up!! and I gave it a decent wash to get rid of all the white wax powder that was left behind.
Firstly the rust snap..
And some pics from the for sale ad.. looking better now already I reckon..
And then the new pics..
Anyone know anybody with 4dr side strips for sale?? or a cl chin spoiler, that front valence looks terrible!
Oh and nearly forgot my state of the ark stereo!

Been a while since my last update.. quite alot gone on since. :?
After a couple of weeks of trouble free motoring since it coming back from the body shop (which I am more than impressed with I must say) I started getting a fluid leak from under the car??? looks watery and feels watery .. a quick taste and it's lovely sweet anti freeze. ok. So I top up with water and run upto temperature at which point water comes gushing out the expansion bottle.. now with hindsight I'm thinking that it's just the water finding it's level in the system but as a precaution I'll stop driving it, And so it gets parked up once again outside the flat. Cue the freezing temperatures last week. I'll just chuck a litre of anti freeze in just to make sure it hasn't fired all the other stuff out when it put on it's water fountain display, and so once again it's run upto to temperature to make sure all the anti freeze has circulated and this time i've got an altogether different kind of leak this one being being turquoise an diesely smelling.. at a rate of a drip about every second off the bottom of the diesel pump. guess that spindle oil seal has finally give up. Now my daily driver is a pair of size 8's and an MP3 player!! and my car which was to keep me warm and stylish through the winter now looks like this…
Methinks someone didn't set the timing up to well at some point as well…
The offending diesel pump.
Love this car…. Starting to get the feeling it doesn't like me though..

Well it's back.. sort of. The new head gasket is on and it's now running again albeit on the old diesel pump which is leaking like a seive from the distributor head and not the throttle spindle as I first thought, We wanted to run it up to make sure everything was ok and then do the pump at a (now sooner) later date. Pops wouldn't believe me how bad the leak was.. he knows now. Anyway suffice to say it's leaking at a rate of knots all over my parking bay which now has a leak pad in permanent residence!
Lovely clean head now though.. and a little lighter.
The exhaust has now taken to splitting itself in half on at least 3 different occasions but luckily the middle has come away leaving the back box in place and me to carry on my journey back home with what sounds like a bag of spanners dragging underneath!! at least now the working days are back I will be able to get it up on a ramp and straighten it out properly.
but other than that it's been trouble free.
Got this made up too but not sure if I like the font or layout..

Is the head cracked between the inlet and exhaust valves(x4)?

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Yep on all of them and it's quite normal apparently…
Middle box fell off again today and is knackered. System looks out of line, Wondering if maybe the front pipe has taken a whack at some point and has moved the rest of it?? got one on order. Car is turning into more of a money pit than the GTI!!!!

I've never hoped of anything more in my life!!
It's now known as blue peril .. seems quite apt.
peril:
1. a. Imminent danger.
b. Exposure to the risk of harm or loss.
2. Something that endangers or involves risk.
