Low 'n' slow.
When the insurance gets cheaper then the engine/gearbox/ATB-LSD/brakes/ gets better. Your thoughts?
Done a few engines during the 1990's and won a few quarter miles. Too much torque is not good unless you run a AWD etc. Personally Drivers are hard to come by so stick with the original engine. Good luck with the car.

thanks for all the support guys! im finishing uni for the year in april so im trying to get a few bits and bobs together so i can get her back on the road job list is now…
- ABD engine with 5speed gearbox running the injection from the polo GT
- band the wheels find some of the chrome hub caps
- door seals all round
- got a bit of leak at the heater matrix, so i need to fix that
- really want new seats as mine are pretty tatty
- pedal box needs adjusting as the accelerator pedal sits low/ brake and clutch sit high, dunno if anyone else has experienced this?
- few other bits and bobs, just little things really!
cheers, Mike

Hi guys not been able to do much to the golf recently until the past few weeks, welding has been done! but ive found another small rust patch where the brake lines are under the front passenger seat, so getting that all welded and im gonna re- do the brakes (new copper lines and braided flexis, discs and pads)
Anyway.. onto what ive done today! i'll let the pictures do the talking! haha
tommorow i'll be taking the dash back out as ive got a few wiring issues and also going to whip the wings off, as the engine bay is going back down to bare metal getting rid of the horrid seam sealer, also going to re-locate the battery to either the boot or maybe get a slimline battery under my seat!and obviously the bay will need a lick of paint!

Great to see some updates on this are you going to remove the rain tray as well?

Thanks mate, and I'm going to keep the rain tray as the plan is to eventually have it as a daily and I dont really fancy exposing the engine bay to any more rain/weathering if I can help it
