Mk1 Campaign - half way through 'restoration'

All,
Been using to this forum for a while now and I thought I'd put up some shots of my car! It's a helios blue campaign - most of the little changes were added by previous owner.

Had it since '94 and in the last few weeks had new: bonnet, bumper (front) and front panel courtesy of an insurance claim. Put lights and grill on myself, plus new aerial and other bits 'n pieces.

Rear needs to be done now - usual places - will be tracking down new rear panel (if possible) and new arches.

Will keep you posted. Thanks to those on the forum that have helped so far, especially with some of the stuff on the oil temp reg and the heater valve.

Cheers
Dave

Thanks for the comments.

To be honest the wood cappings were put on by the previous ownee as well as all the other bits: electric aerial, electric windows, clocks, map light!!, hella lights (though they are new following accident!!) and the wood. When I first got the car I was going to take the wood off, but I quite like it and makes the car stand out from the crowd - I have the receipt and they cost ?200 and that was 15 years ago!!

Basically the car from the doors back needs to be brought up to spec with the front - like cleaning a shoe - once you start on one bit you have to do the whole thing!!

Got a good quote from a garage in Wales - the chief mechanic used to have a red Mk 1 and sold it for ?5000! So reckon I'm in good hands.

Will keep you posted.

Cheers
Dave

Awesome colour is the front spolier part of the BBS bodykit?

Not sure about the wood panelling  but someone spent a lot of time making those.

What do you plan to do. Mine has been stripped right back for a full respray but your bodywork looks pretty good from the pics.

Plan is to:

1. Get new passenger door.
2. Repair driver door
3. New rear arches
4. Repair small amount of rust on tailgate
5. Windows out respray
6. Any minor dings removed

I've had a quote from garage - between ?1200 and ?1500 for all this work, which to be honest is reasonable - I'm going to trouble to get job done and I want it done right!

Other bits;
7. New leather on wheel
8. New steering rack

The car will the be used as w/e car - to be honest there are too many clowns on the road and getting things fixed is now becoming too hard!

Cheers
Dave

Where in Wales are you from Dave?

Loving the BBS splitter and Hella's - Very "period"!
With the others on the door cappings though - Get em on ebay… You'll probably get ?200 for them!

From London, though my folks are Welsh - which makes me Welsh!

Yeh, the spoiler I think looks good - was on the car when I bought it, though it was black then and I had it sprayed the colour of the car - the hellas lights were on it to and I've just replaced them - got exact same model on ebay - even in the original box!

As for door cappings - going to keep them - I like them in a sick sort of way and if i ever sold the car the next owner can take them off easy.

Will keep you posted on how I get on with the respray over next few weeks

cheers
